Underground, a root doesn't throw

a pity party every winter.

It doesn't numb out

and wait for spring to rescue it —

it just holds out,

stubborn and unglamorous, 'til Spring.

You don't have to feel powerful to be resilient.

You just have to stay rooted while the storm

does its dramatic thing overhead.

You can feel this, and still be okay.
